Two Jefferson State students, Michael Calvin and Francis Holl, were recently named to the 2024 All-Alabama Academic Team for exceptional achievement, distinguished leadership, and community service.
Michael Calvin plans to transfer to the University of Alabama at Birmingham and pursue a bachelors degree in psychology. He wants to become a clinical psychologist.
Francis Holl plans to transfer to the University of Alabama and pursue a bachelors degree in civil engineering. She wants to manage city planning with a focus on equal access to public transportation.
All-Alabama Academic Team students are nominated by their respective colleges and must possess a minimum grade point average of 3.25, be involved in campus activities, and have completed a minimum of 12 semester hours at the institution.
The All-Alabama Academic Team recognition program was founded in 1995 to complement the All-USA National Academic Team Program sponsored by USA Today, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, and the American Association of Community Colleges.
