Mission Statement & Purpose
The purpose of Phi Theta Kappa shall be to recognize and encourage scholarship among two-year college students. Phi Theta Kappa shall provide opportunity for the development of leadership and service for an intellectual climate for exchange of ideas and ideals, for lively fellowship for scholars, and for stimulation of interest in continuing academic excellence.
Phi Theta Kappa’s mission is two-fold: To recognize and encourage the academic achievement of two-year college students and to provide opportunities for individual growth and development through participation in honors, leadership, service, and fellowship programming.
Organization Description
Phi Theta Kappa is America’s most prestigious scholarly organization for students at two-year colleges. Jefferson State Community College is home to two Phi Theta Kappa Chapters: Beta Lambda Delta and Pi Pi. A chapter is a branch of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society that services the community college. A chapter consists of a faculty advisor(s), officers, and members.
Jefferson Campus & St. Clair-Pell City Campus
Π Π Chapter
Pi Pi is a chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society located at the Jefferson Campus of Jefferson State Community College. The chapter has also slowly begun branching out to Jefferson State Community College’s St. Clair-Pell City Campus. The Pi Pi Chapter recognizes outstanding academic achievement, encourages scholarship, and fosters a commitment to service to the college and the community.
