Mission Statement & Purpose
The Spotlight Drama Club seeks to provide interested students with opportunities for hands-on education and participation in theater. The club aims to encourage creative self-expression, artistry, and outside-of-the-box thinking through classes, workshops and productions that reinforce the educational goals of the college. It strives to foster an appreciation of all performing arts and offers opportunities for artistic and academic growth. Membership is open to all students with an interest in promoting the performing arts on campus and in the community
Productions
Each year, Spotlight produces a minimum of three full-length plays of high literary and entertainment value. Each is performed at The Center for Education and Performing Arts (CEPA) in Pell City and at least one is staged on other campuses. Performance and technical positions are open to all students in good academic standing. Follow us on Facebook for updates regarding auditions, performances and other activities.

Delta Psi Omega
Students who earn points by participating in Spotlight productions and other club activities may be eligible to be inducted into Delta Psi Omega, the National Theatre Honor Society. Memberships dues are a one-time fee of $30 and inductions are held at least once per academic year. Honor cords and pins may be purchased by the club member. Members of Delta Psi Omega who transfers to a four-year university are automatically members of the parent organization, Alpha Psi Omega.
THR 120 Theater Appreciation Course Description
Several sections of Theater Appreciation are offered each semester in-person and online. This class fulfills the college’s fine arts requirement and is transferrable to four-year universities in Alabama. Course Descriptions
