Shelby-Hoover Campus, Health Sciences Multipurpose Room, 11:30 am Trumpeter extraordinaire and member of the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame, Carr also serves as Director of Music Education for the AJHF. Per the AJHF Facebook page, Carr “has been a mainstay of Birmingham’s jazz community. He currently hosts a Tuesday night jam session at B.O.S.S. Ultra Bar and Lounge located in downtown Birmingham.” His lecture will also feature a musical performance. This event is co-sponsored with the JSCC Black History Committee.
