WIOA is a federally funded program designed to assist job seekers with access to employment, education, training, and support services necessary to succeed in the labor market. The program is intended to serve adults, dislocated workers, and youth who are in need of training to enter or re-enter the labor market.
WIOA eligibility is determined through the Alabama Career Centers. Training funds generally will provide tuition/registration, tools, books, and fees. Not all training and educational programs are covered by WIOA. For the current list of WIOA approved programs at Jefferson State visit https://alabamaworks.alabama.gov.
If you are interested in obtaining more information on the WIA program, please contact Ken King in the Career Center at (205) 856-8029 or [email protected]. The center is located on the Jefferson Campus in Lurleen Wallace Hall 216. The hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
