The Holiday Door Decorating Contest is Back!
Back by popular demand, the Holiday Door Decorating Contest is your office’s chance to showcase its creativity and teamwork—and, of course, to make the holiday season merry and bright for everyone!
The contest is NOW OPEN; the final deadline to enter your door in the contest is Monday, December 9, 2024, at 4:30 p.m.! To enter the contest, please use the form below (scroll down) to upload photos of your door and a few basic details for consideration. Winners will be announced on Friday, December 13.
While we encourage a jolly old time for all, let’s be sure to keep everything safe and fair with a few ground rules (see below).
Contest Rules:
- All contestants must use the form below (please scroll down) to submit their doors for consideration by no later than 4:30 p.m., Monday, December 9, 2024.
- Participants may enter submissions under one of two categories: Double Door or Single Door.
- Decorations must NOT obstruct the safe and proper functioning of the doorway or in any way inhibit traffic through the doorway or surrounding hallway. (Contestants will be required to submit photographs of the door, both, opened and closed. The online form will include additional guidance.)
- Decorations may be two- and/or three-dimensional, but they must be freestanding/self-supporting and, most importantly, inanimate. No people or live animals may be used as part of your display!
- Decorations should be strictly limited to the door or doors only. Decorations should not extend beyond the outside edges of the door or cover any part of the surrounding door frame/wall. While we do not discourage you from decorating spaces apart from your door, please be aware that, in the interest of fairness, only decorations affixed directly to doors (not covering any part of the door frame) will be considered for the contest.
Doors will be judged according to the following criteria:
- Strict adherence to all contest rules listed above
- Creativity and originality
- Representation of, both, JSCC Spirit and Holiday Spirit
- Aesthetic qualities (e.g., color usage, texture, thematic unity, etc.)
- Technical execution (i.e., complexity and skill involved)
